GEEKS, Saturday night- Cartoon Flophouse founders (and Cartoonistas)Michael Aushenker and Jose Cabrera presented a unique slide show that showcased some of the history of their cartoon influences. Everything from Tin Tin to Popeye to Mad Magazine to Sesame Street was covered. Very funny and very cool.

Coming to the Cuban Club on Lower Azusa Road in El Monte is the 3rd Annual San Gabriel Valley Comic Book Festival. This year the festival returns to El Monte from Monrovia, where it was held last year. The festival will feature local and independent comic book artists. The date is September 19, 2010.
